About Us
The Indy GTO Association (IGTOA) is a friendly car club that heralds the Pontiac GTO nameplate as one of the best in automotive history. The club's members primarily come from the Indianapolis, IN area and surrounding counties in Indiana. GTO ownership is not a requirement.
The Indy GTO Association meets once a month, rotating locations around Indianapolis. We also meet for road trips and car cruises. To keep up to date on where we are going to be next please bookmark and frequently visit this blog at http://indygto.blogspot.com/
President "Prez" Bill Sanders leads the club with unmatched enthusiasm, challenging the members to attend club functions and drive their cars for the enjoyment of it.
The IGTOA is an official chapter of the national GTO Association Of America (GTOAA) http://gtoaa.org/ Back in the summer of 1993, the IGTOA hosted a national GTOAA meet. People from the U.S. and other countries showed up with their cars to enjoy several days of fellowship at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Even though its been several years, people who attended that meet still talk about their experience. One of the highlights of that national show was a lap around the famous 2 1/2 mile oval race track. Check out photos from the June 15, 2002"Day at the Track" at http://ultimategto.com/daytrack02.htm
Charity Begins at Home: In 2001, the club adopted the Elysian Foundation as a charity to support. More recently we have purchased rocking chairs for Riley Children's Hospital.
Mission Statement: The Pontiac GTO . . . . the first, and the Legend in muscle car history. To those dedicated few that remember what it was like, and to all those who still experience the thrill of driving a GTO, the Indy GTO Association dedicates itself. From sliding through desolate, winding back roads to redline shifts down the quarter mile, we feel that there is no better way to experience driving than in a Pontiac GTO. There is also no better way to enjoy a cool breeze in the park, a family picnic, or a drive-in movie, than from the seat of Pontiac's GreaTOne. The Indy GTO Association will provide you with facts, figures and parts sources for your car. We will also put you in the company of fellow owners and admirers who share in your enthusiasm.
